Introduction
If Element does not home Z correctly, first layer and print quality will be greatly affected.
These are instructions for identifying the cause and resolving the issue
-
-
Home Z under Printer > Controls
-
If the bed is at the very bottom of the printer, it will get stuck there. Powercycle the printer, then use the printer controls to move the bed up 20mm (2 presses). Power cycle the printer again, then Home Z
-
The bed should move all the way to the top of the printer and contact the nozzle
-
-
-
If the bed moves to the bottom and not to the top of the printer, check the clearance between the Transition Container bracket, pictured, and the bed
-
A gap should be visible. If not, gently bend the Transition Container bracket to make a gap, then follow Step 1 again
-
If you have issues, take a picture of the gap and share with support@mosaicmfg.com
-
-
-
If the bed moves to the top of the printer, but does not contact the nozzle, check if the bed is contacting the densifier in the back right, Check the gap between the bed and densifier - take a picture from below to check the gap
-
Check that the top two densifier screws are fully tightened
-
Rotate the bed assembly manually clockwise, away from the densifier - you should feel 1-2mm of movement
-
Run Z homing again. If the bed still contacts the densifier after following the above steps, contact your Account Manager or support@mosaicmfg.com
