Palette 3 Error Codes
If there is an error displayed on your Palette 3's screen, please consult the chart below. If you have any further questions, please contact us at support@mosaicmfg.com!
System | Error Code | Description | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|---|---|
Cam | 100 | Could not home cam | Stepper skipping/slipping, proximity not working | Try homing cam in X-ray mode |
101 | Could not select the input (move from input x to y) | Stepper skipping/slipping, proximity not working | try homing cam in X-ray mode | |
Cutter | 110 | Palette could not perform a cut | Motor not connected, proximity not working | Try cutting in X-ray mode |
111 | Could not home the cutter | Motor not connected, proximity not working | try cutting in X-ray mode | |
112 | Direct Cutter (DC) Motor Stall | The DC motor experienced a lot of resistance cutting, potentially a jam | Try cutting in X-ray mode | |
Printing | 130 | Timeout homing ingoing when advancing the input | Likely due to ingoing filament slipping out of the unit | Ensure filament is not tangled and is in correct position relative to Palette |
131 | Timeout homing outgoing when aligning the outgoing filament during splicing | Broken splice, splice jam, bad end cut | Inspect the splicing area of unit for any abnormalities | |
132 | Filament path blocked (on startup) | One of the two homing switches is active, even when trying to clear the filament, this could be a piece of filament stuck in between the cutter and outgoing drive | Inspect splicing area for any filament left in the splicing zone, and remove it | |
133 | Filament not cleared from palette | We detect 2cm of encoder movement before filament should have reached the encoder, this is due to filament still being in the buffer when a print is started | Ensure filament is cleared from Palette (If Palette clears filament on startup, the filament must then be removed from Palette before proceeding) | |
134 | Pings dropped below 50% | If the last two pings are below 50% when we throw this error. It is most likely due to a broken splice in the buffer/outgoing tube, or the extruder is jammed. The printer will most likely have been air printing for a bit | Inspect buffer tube and extruder, if there is a gap in the filament, a broken splice occurred in the buffer/outgoing tube. If the filament reaches the extruder, it is probably jammed on a splice. | |
Printing (runout detection enabled) | 135 | Timeout advancing the input | Palette unable to drive the filament past the cutter | Please inspect the cutter and splicing area for abnormalities. If none are found send us a video of your unit splicing to support@mosaicmfg.com. |
MSF Parsing | 140 | Historical Modifier Parsing Error | The following errors would come from an invalid mcfx/mafx file | Please send the file to support@mosaicmfg.com to inspect. |

P3P error 131: timeout homing outgoing drive. Printer prusa mini firmware 6.1.2+7894 boot loader 2.3.5 body board 105 ,
P3P serial no. AY6S-P3P . Printer is connected and can be controlled manual. Outgoing tube length 1100mm ( same issue with shorter tubes ) . Feed length from extruder to nozzle 400mm. Start sequence contains M876 P1.
Symptom: printer heat up correct, but no homing , no start of feeding if material reach the extruder gearing, palette stops with Error 131. How can I fix this issue?
Started print with connected printer using local stored Canvas file.

Hi Rolf, we've seen similar issues with Minis in the past, I would suggest reviewing this article: https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/user-mod...

What mean error code 500 when trying to send files to printer
Akkouche Lyes - Reply
Would you mind sending a video of what is happening to support@mosaicmfg.com?
Jonny Yeu -
multicolor, it works but today, i cann ot print because other problem , it seems that palette 3 pro don't detect filament!
Akkouche Lyes -
Hey Akkouche, this may occur if you're trying to print a single-material print. Can you confirm that you've processeds a multi-color/material MAFX or MCFX file?
Jonny Yeu -
my palette 3 pro does not send the amount it should at first and then stops and does not detect movement
ajfh@sapo.pt - Reply
This may be related to the outgoing tube length and/or LO. Please send us an email at support@mosaicmfg.com and we can troubleshoot this issue with you.
Jonny Yeu -
In Accessory mode "Download" outputs a .gcode file, not a compressed file containing a .gcode and .mafx file.
What is the fix for this problem?
Bob Samuel - Reply
Hey Bob, please ensure that you have a Palette profile connected to your project before slicing.

I'm getting code 136 which is not in the list...
Drew Blazo - Reply
Hey Drew, 136 is similar to the 135 error in that something with the runout triggered an issue. What are your current runout settings? Could you provide some information on what occured before the error triggered?
Jonny Yeu -
101 error gapping between cam inputs | Did not pass tab while moving, That is all I get now ... Why ?

Printing 4 colors with the 3pro, I cannot get a print to finish completely. It runs out of filament before the print is done. It’s a 7 hour print, about 100mm X 100mm x 15mm, printing at 25mms. My splices are tuned, the purge block is set at 175 with a 60 transition target, the boden tube and offset is measured correctly. My colors look good, most of the time, still have a bleed issue going from dark to light, but I can fix that. Sometime in the last 5-10% or about 15minutes, it runs out of filament. Is there a way to add another 200mm or so of filament to the end of the line to ensure it finishes?

I'm sorry to hear that, but if you do decide to give Palette another try, we'd be happy to help. In most cases, the issues that appear can be fixed with minor adjustments, but we would need more information in order to know where those adjustments need to be made. Without cooperation from our users, it's hard for us to provide recommendations or suggestions that would get their setups tuned and running as expected. We have many users who are printing successfully with their Palette 3, and we'd be happy to get yours up and running if you do decide to try again in the future.

It’s packed up and ready to be listed on eBay. I read through all your other messages, your lengthy tutorials, and other people’s posts here and on Reddit. I’ve fixed and changed so many times I’m done… this thing should work, and shouldn’t take this much calibration and tweaking. I understand this is an add-on item that is made to work with a wide variety of printers, but when the pallet is running the printer on your code and if things are measured correctly and splices are tuned. It should work, it shouldn’t be this hard. How do you expect people new to printing to ever pick this up. This is a wide-spread issue. And sounds like I should have bought the 2 instead of the 3pro. Based upon this experience, and reading about tons of others, I’m just getting the AMS and moving on…

Hey David, would you mind sharing pictures of your print/setup along with pings and pongs from recent prints? You can send this to support@mosaicmfg.com, and we can help in finding where the errors are occurring.
Jonny Yeu -
Done that, made it longer, made it shorter, I ether get the wrong colors in the wrong places or it doesn’t finish. I’ve spent 60+ hours trying to dial this thing in. I’ve been printing almost 10 years. Built printers, fixed printers, even build printers for others. I understand this stuff. Honestly, after reading all the forums, I’m getting rid of this thing before I can’t…

Go to your printer setting, select extruder and I believe it says Bowden length, that is what your looking for.

My palette pro is switching colors when it is not supposed to. The slicer shows that the middle of my print should be a solid color, but it is stripped. What would cause this?
Brian Horace Thackeray - Reply
Hey Brian, this is likely a calibration issue. Would you mind sharing information about your recent print, including pings, pictures, and your Canvas project link (mm3d.co/canvas-sharing)? You can send this to support@mosaicmfg.com.
Jonny Yeu -
honestly this pellet 3 pro is a very expensive piece of DODO!! ive had it for a month now, and the only print that ive managed to work is the test print! everything else fails or errors upon errors upon errors!!
Carl - Reply
Hey Carl, sorry to hear that you’re having these issues, but we can definitely provide some assistance with some additional information. Do you have pictures and pings from recent prints that you can share with us? Have you run Splice Tuning with your unit? Have you gone through the steps in the First Print article (mm3d.co/p3-firstprint)? Please feel free to reach out to us at support@mosaicmfg.com and we’d be happy to help.

I keep getting error 132 after the first cut of filament. It doesn’t advance out of the splice area and errors out, the next filament doesn’t even start to advance. This has happened 6+ times. Any ideas?
Trevor Harder - Reply
This would be in your Project Settings (right side menu on the main project page) under Transition
Jonny Yeu -
How would I increase this? This is on the first calibration print.
Trevor Harder -
This may be related to the first piece being too short, so it doesn’t reach the outgoing drive. Could you please increase your transition lengths slightly and re-slice the file before attempting the print again?

Hello, 25 prints launched and still a different error after 43 min! I find it lamentable to have no help 500g of plate wasted for a 900 euro machine which is not worth the cost! I would like a helping hand and explanations in French. I say in FRENCH because yes we are forgotten. Nothing to explain to overcome the multiple errors on the chain without counting the lack of training of your resellers! So I would like someone to explain to me how to do it! THANKS

Hi All,
After a good few months of having successful prints with the unit using usb and a prusia mk3s, i now want to try and use the printer i bought this for. the creality 3d print mill - whilst the software allows me to add that printer, i cant get it working - can you use an infinite printer with this unit ? I wanted to print my signs in differrent colours but i cant get the waste tower to work. Any help would be welcomed - dave@hestor.com - thanks - ps: great to see the new error codes list expanding, it does help.
David Smith - Reply
Hey David, Palette doesn’t work with mill or infinite printers at this time. We expect to build this support in the future, but for the time being, we would not be compatible.

I have had my Palette 3 Pro for a couple of months now and have not yet succeeded printing anything other than the keychain. Error 130 always interrupts anything larger than a flat print. I have done splice tuning and am drying all my filament. No success. What can I do?
Hartmuth Kolb - Reply
Hi
I found the same issue to begin with until i read somewhere about the spacing.
I then cleared my dinning room table (which was a massive 8 foot long), i set the prusa up onside, the palette 3 pro around 2 foot away (making sure that the tube attached to the filament head could reach up, down, left, right, etc) and then placed the roll holder as far away as possible on the other side of the table (about 4 foot away).
Then as if by magic it worked, i believe - and i may be wrong in say this - it is to do with the palette unit feeding the filaments back out, if the filament reel is too close when it pushes it back out it can slip out of the guide and cause the 130 error !!
I have now got some amazing prints coming out of it, including a 2 foot mickey mouse - printed in colour, bucket load of waste of course but it so cool.
I so wanted to use this with my print mill - which is what i bought it for, sadly they not written the coding yet.
David Smith -
I’m sorry to hear that, Hartmuth! Which version of Palette’s firmware are you using? What are your splice tuning values? Could you please e-mail us (support@mosaicmfg.com) with pictures of your splices and of your physical Palette/printer setup?
Jonny Yeu -
Hi All,
Hoping this might help others who are having issues.
I was finding i had issues, up until i stumbled upon distance.
I now have success pretty much every time.
Set up your unit with at least 8 foot of distance - yes thats right 8 foot.
Place your rolls in the unit (roll holder), make sure this is around 4 foot away from the mosaic unit.
Then feed the filaments into the unit, i have found that the issue of the 130 errors are to do with when the unit backwards moves the filament, the filaments can hit each other and mean they tangle.
From the mosiac unit i have another two / three foot where the extruder tube then connects to the printer.
Good job for selotape - its the only way i can secure the tube to the printer - got to be a better way than that
But i am having some amazing prints now, and yes - its very clever .
Hope this helps.

I have got an Error 130 - the Filament slipped out. :-(
Feature request:
If an Error 130 occur - bring the print head to a safe position - leave the bed temp on level.
At least for 30-60 minutes. The user could fix the filament and press a button on the screen - resume. Heat up the print head - let the user clear the nozzle. And resume the print!

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll forward this to our team.

Shame i have had a single success - the one sample key chain - thats ya lot.
the rest just constantly come up with errors - more often than not - filament not loading
the filament rolls are fine, they are positioned well, upright or flat.
i have the whole setup on a 12 foot table, be it that the last sample for some reason it has left gaping big holes in it but it was looking good.
the filament seems to slip out ?
its as if its rolling the filament back to much when it switches.
does make me no want to play with it.
i thougth maybe the model was too difficuilt.
and then everytime having to forcable remove the filemant thats left in it or unscrew the four screws to get the filament thats remaining inside as its snapped.
you should have much better examples, videos and guides.
and yep the option to carry on would be amazing.
David Smith - Reply
Sorry to hear about your experience so far. Would you mind e-mailing us with pictures of your setup (support@mosaicmfg.com)? Also, have you run Splice Tuning with your filament (mm3d.co/p3splice-tuning)?

Is it possible to recover the print from an Error? Example a Timeout Error like 130/131 - if I put the Filament back into the postion? That the print could resume.
Stefan - Reply
Hey Stefan, currently there’s no way to recover from a print that failed due to an error.
