Palette 3 (Pro) has 3 requirements for compatibility:
- printer uses non-proprietary filament
- printer uses 1.75 mm filament
- printer is compatible with Canvas or PrusaSlicer, if you are using the P2PP plugin - Palette 3 Pro can only be used with these two slicers
Note: Printer using Klipper firmware will only be compatible with Palette 3 (Pro) in Accessory Mode
If your printer is not on this list and you are not sure if it meets the compatibility requirements, please contact us at support@mosaicmfg.com.

Hello. I plan to buy an ender 3 V3 plus. It seems that this printer has no USB. Is there a way to make my palette 3 pro compatible?
hack - Reply
Thanks for clarifying. Since this printer runs on Klipper, you could connect Palette to your printer by following the steps here: https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/pul...
Jonny Yeu -
there is only an USB-C slot to connect an usb drive. not sure that connecting a mosaic palette will work...
hack -
Hi hack, you can connect Palette directly into the USB slot to run in Connected mode. You can also run without connecting Palette to your printer in Accessory mode.
Jonny Yeu -
So not possible to use with it...
hack -
Hey hack, I believe that the Ender 3 should have a USB slot that Palette can connect to: https://www.creality3dofficial.com/produ...

Tronxy X5SA-500 Pro supported for USB connected mode? Thank you.
Josh Cook - Reply
Thank you very much, I knew their 600 model was on Klipper, and I think their 400 model too actually but I wasn't 100% on their 500. Tronxy has confirmed the 500 is on Marlin.

Hi Josh,
Thank you for your interest in Palette! Regarding your question about Palette's compatibility with Tronxy X5SA-500 Pro, I am happy to let you know that it is compatible in connected mode.

You have most of the Creality models listed together. I'm interested if the Palette 3 Pro will work with an Ender 3 S1 Pro.

The FLSun V400 is too fast for the Palette 3 Pro. I imported my settings from PrusaSlicer to Canvas and tried to print the calibration keychain but the printer was demanding filament at a rate higher than the Palette could provide. Even when the tube got to the limit switch in the buffer, it would stay there for a while before actuating and feeding more filament. This obviously resulted in my outer tube bending and underextrusion. Has anyone tried printing with the V400 and P3Pro?
Roberto Balda - Reply
Hi Roberto - you'll need to lower your print speed here. We'd recommend a solid layer speed of 60-70mm/s. Other users have had success with the FLSUn V400 using these speeds

@jonnyyeu What changes did you make in Klipper to use connected mode. Wanted to get a Palette 3 Pro, but not sure if it can be made to work with a Comgrow T500 with Klipper.
Yousaf Khan - Reply
You can use this https://github.com/Klipper3d/klipper/pul....
You'll need to have the serial port connection with Palette working. On my RPi system, I have the secondary USB port that I can switch to the peripheral mode. It's done by loading the g_serial module (modprobe g_serial or adding g_serial to the list of modules to be loaded on system start). If the gadget serial module is loaded and working, the serial port will likely appear at /dev/ttyGS0.
Edit the klipper systemd unit and pass -T /dev/ttyGS0 to it.

Would this work with the Flash forge Adventurer 5M pro? I see it works with version 4
Aaron Miller - Reply
Based on the specs, we should be compatible in Accessory mode.
Jonny Yeu -
I got annoyed by Accessory mode right from the start, so I made some changes to Klipper and had some success printing in Connected mode!
I want to run some more tests to confirm it though.
And the question to the Mosaic team: what is the correct response from the printer to the O31 command, please? Currently I just echo it back but I'm not sure it's right.
Raman - Reply
Hi Raman, that's great to hear! O31 is a ping command that helps Palette synchronize with the printer. For Palette 3, we'd expect this command to intercepted by P3 and handled internally and not passed to the printer. You can ignore these commands.

Is there any plans in the future to make this compatible with the cr-30 belt printer and to use the ideamaker slicer? Also could you use the flash forge slicer when connecting to the adventure 3?
Matthew grieve - Reply
Hi Matthew, compatibility with a belt-style printer is resticted on the software side as there's no way to properly transition for multi-color/material at this time. We don't have any plans to use any slicers aside from Canvas and PrusaSlicer (via P2PP - mm3d.co/p2pp).
Jonny Yeu -
What would be a good large build volume printer that is completely compatible and does not need to be run in accessory mode?
Chad Gray - Reply
Hey Chad, we're compatible with all Creality models, even the large build size ones. We also work well with Raise3D printers, but you would need to make some adjustments to allow for both Palette and the touchscreen to be connected together. If you're looking for a solution with Palette already built in, we have our new Element printer that also has a 14"x14"x14" build size: https://www.mosaicmfg.com/products/eleme...

Hello,
Would you please establish the connectivity to simplify3d with the Palette 3 Pro? The canvas slicer is simply not sufficient for high demands. It cannot even read 3mf file formats. It also does not support 3dconnexion spacemouse. The browser application is sometimes slow and jerky. I am considering returning the Palette 3 Pro, as the completely inadequate canvas slicer with its extremely limited range of functions and import and export options greatly reduces the enjoyment of the product.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately non-calibrated printing is not of interest for us, as the only reason for such a set up would be the ability to make functional prints with different materials available on both extruders. Also "accessory mode" is quite limiting, although we could live with that if the suggested IDEX setup would work.
Daniil S. - Reply
We use the Flashforge Creator 4 printers in our factory and it would be great if you would add native support for these, as well as add IDEX printer support. For example adding two Palette 3 Pro to an IDEX printer would give the user near endless material possibilities, if two Palette's could synchronize and work together on an IDEX printer like the Creator 4. Please consider this functionality, we would immediately purchase 20 units if that would be a supported configuration!
Daniil S. - Reply
Thanks for your feedback! We are compatible with Creator 4 printers in Accessory mode, and if you're looking to do non-calibrated prints, you can currently use 2 Palettes on an IDEX printer.

Hello.
1. Is it possible to use Palette 3 with a printer not listed here and with a different slicer?
2. Is there any page where the exact setup is described (e.g. where the models are uploaded and what is controlled by what)?
3. Is there any chance the splice core can be purchased and used separately? E.g. I'm primarily interested in splicing a new spool automatically when an existing spool runs out.
Raman - Reply
Hey Raman, to answer your questions:
1. The printer would be compatible as long as the printer fits the criteria (non-proprietary 1.75 mm filament, using either Canvas or PrusaSlicer. We wouldn't be compatible with any other slicers at this time.
2. We have a setup article here (mm3d.co/p3-firstprint). If you're wondering about how Palette stays in calibration with your printer, we have information on the system here (mm3d.co/ping-pong)
3. You can purchase replacement splice cores, but it would not be able to be used separate from Palette (mm3d.co/spare-parts). If you're interested in splicing spools, there is Multi-Spool mode (mm3d.co/p3-multispool).

Are there any belt printers on the market that are compatible with calibrated printing for the Palette 3 Pro?
Robbie McNatt - Reply
Not at the moment. The reason for this is that there is no slicer that would be capable of producing the proper files for Palette at the moment.
Jonny Yeu -
Will the palette pro 3 work with Creality’s CR-30?
Robbie McNatt - Reply
We wouldn't be compatible with this printer for calibrated prints, but you would be able to use it with non-calibrated features (random, gradient, pattern, and multi-spool mode).

Will the Palette work with the Bambu X1?
Rick M - Reply
Based on the specs, we would be compatible.
Jonny Yeu -
Is this list accurate still? My experience tells me that the P3P does not work with the ENDER 3 because prints never actually start.
Dave B - Reply
Yes, this list was recently updated. We have many users that use Ender 3's with their Palette, and we also have one in the office that we use for content. If you're having issues, please feel free to reach out to us at support@mosaicmfg.com and we'd be happy to help!

how about the CR-10 smart pro? can you share a printer profile for canvas to import and provide details how to connect the 3 Pro since the CR-10 smart pro is a direct drive and doesn't have a bowden tube?
mitelayreh@gmail.com - Reply
Hey there, we are compatible with the Smart Pro. We don't have a preset profile for this printer, but you can use the CR-10 profile, then make changes to the physical differences (Bowden tube length, bed dimentions, etc.)

Is it compatible with with flashforge adventurer 3 pro or the flashforge creator pro 2(dual independent heads so 2 of these could make for 16 colors??????????????)

Hey Jusitn, we are compatible with these printers in Accessory mode. Currently, you'd only be able to use one extruder at a time with Palette.

I have 3 cubicon printers. cubicon Style 220c, Style NEO-A22C, and Style NEO-A31C.
Are they compatible with pallet3 pro?
khim - Reply
They would be compatible as long as you are able to use 3rd party slicing software: either our slicer, Canvas (canvas3d.io) or Prusa Slicer. On the Cubicon website I see it specifies the Cubicreator slicer - you would not be able to use Palette with this slicer.

Andrew Littlefield - Reply
That’s good to know! In that case, we would be compatible.
Jonny Yeu -
Yes to 3rd party filament. It uses GCode for programming. By default they use Simplify3D but everything is manually configured for it.
Andrew Littlefield -
Hey Andrew, taking a look, it seems to be compatible, but it would depend on a few factors which aren’t clear on the website: Are you able to non-proprietary filament and 3rd-party software, such as PrusaSlicer or our slicer, Canvas (canvas3d.io)?
Jonny Yeu -
The list mentions the Raise3D pro 2 series. How about the newer pro 3 series ?
Marvin - Reply
We would be compatible with the Pro 3 as well.
Jonny Yeu -
Hi, is palette 3 pro compatible with Makerbot Method series of printers?
Marvin - Reply
I saw a separately sold “experimental” extruder for the Method series, which is supposed to allow arbitrary, 3rd party filament. Would that be an option? I do not know if the filament can be fed from outside the printer or if it has to be inside a tray of sorts, though…
Marvin -
Hey Marvin, we are not compatible with the Method series as they require proprietary filament.

Thanks for your answer Jonny Yeu.
I currently have a cr10s pro, so if i buy the 3 pro, i can’t make prints with the transition/wipe block ?
Paulo - Reply
You’re welcome! You’d be able to print calibrated prints (with a transition tower/wipe block) with the CR-10S Pro, we have a lot of users that use the CR-10 and Ender line of printers. However, for a Belt-style printer like the CR-30, you’d be unable to create calibrated prints at this time.
Jonny Yeu -
What does this mean:
“Please note that while you can use Palette in multi, random, or gradient mode with belt printers, they are not compatible for calibrated prints”
Paulo - Reply
Multi-spool, Random, and Gradient modes are non-calibrated print features, meaning that the model can be sliced as a single-material model and that there is no transition method needed. Calibrated prints would need a transition tower in order to create specified and accurate color changes, and currently the slicing software is unable to create towers for belt-style printers.

good evening, I would have liked to know if there was a tutorial for the mosaic palette 3 pro on ender 3 v2 because I don't know where to put the tpfe, nothing explained and I'm completely lost! and is there a slicer other than canvas for the 3 pro palette because canva does not support large files and I find that a shame! and i would like to use prusa slicer. but all the tutorials are in English (and I'm French) and they are not very detailed. so i would like some help please
Sakura - Reply
Hi Sakura, the setup for Palette 3 Pro and the Ender is similar to the setup in this video: mm3d.co/cr10-setup
I’d also recommend going through the steps here: mm3d.co/p3-firstprint
You are able to use PrusaSlicer using a plugin called P2PP (mm3d.co/p2pp).

Hello, Will the Voron 2.4 (coreXY) using Duet 3 6HC with reprap firmware web interface be compatible with the Palette 3 Pro?

Hey Michael, yes, we’d be compatible, but you wouldn’t be able to connect Palette directly to the Duet board. It would work in Accessory mode: mm3d.co/p3-accessory
Jonny Yeu -
I’m running mine on a Sainsmart Coreception (CoreXY) with Direct extrusion and it works. I can’t attach the bowden tube clip at the extruder because of the way the the filament enters the extruder but it hasn’t presented any issues so far.

Is the FlashForge Adventurer 3, 3D Printer compatible? It was and now its not showing up, what happened.
Chris Davin - Reply
I just made a print with my FlashForge Adventurer 3. Sliced in Canvas and the resulting gx-file was transferred to the printer by USB-stick. Worked like a charm!
Konrad Skeri Ekblad -
The Adventurer 3 does not require FlashPrint. I am using both Ultimaker Cura and Simplify3D with it.
Konrad Skeri Ekblad -
We will clarify that this is for Adventurer 1 and 2.
Jonny Yeu -
Then why above does it say its compatible? So your falsly lying to people saying it works with the Pal 3?
Flashforge Adventurer, Creator, Creator Pro, Dreamer, Finder, Guidar (I & II)
Compatible with Palette yes
Chris Davin -
Hey Chris, we removed this as it seems that the Adventurer 3 requires Flashprint. If this printer works with Canvas or PrusaSlicer, it would be compatible.
