Palette 3 (Pro) has 3 requirements for compatibility:
- printer uses non-proprietary filament
- printer uses 1.75 mm filament
- printer is compatible with Canvas or PrusaSlicer, if you are using the P2PP plugin - Palette 3 Pro can only be used with these two slicers
If your printer is not on this list and you are not sure if it meets the compatibility requirements, please contact us at support@mosaicmfg.com.

Is the Palette 3 Pro compatible with customizations/BTT conversions on creality printers? Example: Ender 5 plus with BTT SKR Mini E3 V3.0 control board and a Voron StealthBurner with ClockWork2 direct drive extruder.
ThunderClap - Reply
Hey there, we haven't tested thoroughly with these types of modifications, but we should stil be compatible in Connected mode, and would definitely still work in Accessory mode.
Jonny Yeu -
There is no ender 5s 1 on the canvas program.

Hi,
Is this compatible with Ender 5 S1?
Does it cause a problem if the printer is a direct driver?
Bilge - Reply
Hey Bilge, we are compatible with the Ender 5 S1, but we don't have a preset on Canvas. You could use the Ender preset, but would need to make adjusments to the physical differences (bowden tube length, bed dimensions, etc.).

Are there any plans to make pallete 3 pro compatible with belt printers for calibrated prints? All I want is the ability to use a separate material for support and the main print on a belt printer at 45⁰
Colin Harrell - Reply
Hi @colinmanlives, I'm afraid that we don't have plans for this. Belt printers will continue to be compatible only with non-calibrated prints

Does canvas slicer allow for 45⁰ printing such as with belt printers
Colin Harrell - Reply
Hey Colin, Canvas wouldn't be able to slice for belt-style printers (45⁰ printing), so Palette would only work for your setup if you're using a non-calibrated print method like Random, Pattern, and Multi-spool print modes.
Jonny Yeu -
Will this allow to print a part in pla with dissolveable support material on a cr-30 belt printer?

mark salt - Reply
Hey Mark, yes, it would be compatible as long as your printer uses 1.75 mm filament and can print files sliced by either Canvas (canvas3d.io) or PrusaSlicer (mm3d.co/p2pp).
Jonny Yeu -
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately non-calibrated printing is not of interest for us, as the only reason for such a set up would be the ability to make functional prints with different materials available on both extruders. Also "accessory mode" is quite limiting, although we could live with that if the suggested IDEX setup would work.
Daniil S. - Reply
We use the Flashforge Creator 4 printers in our factory and it would be great if you would add native support for these, as well as add IDEX printer support. For example adding two Palette 3 Pro to an IDEX printer would give the user near endless material possibilities, if two Palette's could synchronize and work together on an IDEX printer like the Creator 4. Please consider this functionality, we would immediately purchase 20 units if that would be a supported configuration!
Daniil S. - Reply
Thanks for your feedback! We are compatible with Creator 4 printers in Accessory mode, and if you're looking to do non-calibrated prints, you can currently use 2 Palettes on an IDEX printer.

Hello.
1. Is it possible to use Palette 3 with a printer not listed here and with a different slicer?
2. Is there any page where the exact setup is described (e.g. where the models are uploaded and what is controlled by what)?
3. Is there any chance the splice core can be purchased and used separately? E.g. I'm primarily interested in splicing a new spool automatically when an existing spool runs out.
Raman - Reply
Hey Raman, to answer your questions:
1. The printer would be compatible as long as the printer fits the criteria (non-proprietary 1.75 mm filament, using either Canvas or PrusaSlicer. We wouldn't be compatible with any other slicers at this time.
2. We have a setup article here (mm3d.co/p3-firstprint). If you're wondering about how Palette stays in calibration with your printer, we have information on the system here (mm3d.co/ping-pong)
3. You can purchase replacement splice cores, but it would not be able to be used separate from Palette (mm3d.co/spare-parts). If you're interested in splicing spools, there is Multi-Spool mode (mm3d.co/p3-multispool).
Jonny Yeu -
Are there any belt printers on the market that are compatible with calibrated printing for the Palette 3 Pro?
Robbie McNatt - Reply
Not at the moment. The reason for this is that there is no slicer that would be capable of producing the proper files for Palette at the moment.

Will the palette pro 3 work with Creality’s CR-30?

We wouldn't be compatible with this printer for calibrated prints, but you would be able to use it with non-calibrated features (random, gradient, pattern, and multi-spool mode).

They would be compatible as long as you are able to use 3rd party slicing software: either our slicer, Canvas (canvas3d.io) or Prusa Slicer. On the Cubicon website I see it specifies the Cubicreator slicer - you would not be able to use Palette with this slicer.

Andrew Littlefield -
Hey Andrew, taking a look, it seems to be compatible, but it would depend on a few factors which aren’t clear on the website: Are you able to non-proprietary filament and 3rd-party software, such as PrusaSlicer or our slicer, Canvas (canvas3d.io)?

Hi, is palette 3 pro compatible with Makerbot Method series of printers?
Marvin - Reply
I saw a separately sold “experimental” extruder for the Method series, which is supposed to allow arbitrary, 3rd party filament. Would that be an option? I do not know if the filament can be fed from outside the printer or if it has to be inside a tray of sorts, though…
Marvin -
Hey Marvin, we are not compatible with the Method series as they require proprietary filament.

I currently have a cr10s pro, so if i buy the 3 pro, i can’t make prints with the transition/wipe block ?
Paulo - Reply
You’re welcome! You’d be able to print calibrated prints (with a transition tower/wipe block) with the CR-10S Pro, we have a lot of users that use the CR-10 and Ender line of printers. However, for a Belt-style printer like the CR-30, you’d be unable to create calibrated prints at this time.
Jonny Yeu -
What does this mean:
“Please note that while you can use Palette in multi, random, or gradient mode with belt printers, they are not compatible for calibrated prints”
Paulo - Reply
Multi-spool, Random, and Gradient modes are non-calibrated print features, meaning that the model can be sliced as a single-material model and that there is no transition method needed. Calibrated prints would need a transition tower in order to create specified and accurate color changes, and currently the slicing software is unable to create towers for belt-style printers.

Hi Sakura, the setup for Palette 3 Pro and the Ender is similar to the setup in this video: mm3d.co/cr10-setup

You are able to use PrusaSlicer using a plugin called P2PP (mm3d.co/p2pp).

Which motherboards are compatible? Duet, BigTreeTech, Fystec, etc. I would like to know which motherboards are supported for the DIY crowd. Thanks Mosaic!

So my palette 3 pro is coming next month. I will attempting to get it to work with the Bigtreetech Octopus v1.1. The printer is a Ratrig V-Core 3 500mm cubed. Imagine the color block!
