Introduction
The Array gantry may require re-homing if audible skipping or visible misalignment occurs along its X (left to right) Y (top to bottom) and Z (end effector in and out) axes. Depending on if the system is active and operational, there are a few methods to home the gantry.
For the primary method, the action of opening and closing the front door resets the system indicator for the position status. By resetting this indicator, Array will check whether the gantry’s position is known or unknown. If the position is unknown, gantry will home prior to completing its next set of actions.
Primary Method
Some Element printers are active and prints are in progress
Please follow these instructions if print jobs are ongoing and it’s intended to preserve the queue. Important: Avoid opening the front door while the End Effector is placing or retrieving a bed from Element.
- Open and close the front door
- Standby for the next gantry and end effector action (e.g. fetching a completed part to bring to Storage Cart, or fetching a new bed to place into Element). The gantry should perform its homing sequence before completing its next action
All Element printers are idle.
This can be done when no print jobs are ongoing
- Open and close the front door
- Start a new print job, and the gantry should perform its homing sequence once this new job begins
Secondary Method
Array experienced an error during a print job
Warning: these actions will erase the queue and cancel ongoing print jobs. Improvements will be made to preserve the queue when powercycling
- Reset Array by powercycling. Turn Array off, wait 5 seconds, and turn on again
- Start a new print job, and the gantry should perform its homing sequence once this new job begins
