Introduction

This guide encompasses steps to take before printing with Palette, running the first print on Palette 3, and how to further tune the printer profile. Each step here will provide a link to a more in-depth guide on how to complete each task.

  1. Please make sure your extruder is calibrated and your bed is levelled before adding Palette. Please also make sure the filament you are working with isn’t too brittle, as this can lead to breakages within Palette during your print.

    • Once you're logged in, create a new printer profile and setup, and add Palette 3 to your setup following the steps here. These instructions will include how to connect Palette 3 to the Internet and Canvas, and how to color and slice.

    • If you are looking to print with a USB connection between Palette and the printer, select connected mode. If you prefer to print the files from external storage on your printer or another method, select accessory mode.

    • If you have already connected Palette 3 to Canvas please select the Palette 3 under My Online Devices at the top of the list.

  3. Always ensure that you're using the most recent version of firmware to ensure that you're using the most up-to-date features and improvements.

  4. When you turn on Palette for the first time it will guide you through the initial setup. Make sure that the following have been completed: Palette is positioned close to your printer.
  5. Palette splices together different materials and feeds them into 3D printers to create objects with multiple colors and materials.

    • Palette uses a combination of heat, compression, and cooling to join these filaments together depending on the materials’ properties.

    • We recommend using filament that is within +/- 0.03 mm spec of 1.75 mm to create the best quality splices.

  6. For the calibration print, we recommend using PLA.

  7. After completing the first print, the next set of multi-material prints completed with this same printer profile will be further tuned by selecting to save or ignore the print based on calibration data.

Please remove or add a legitimate link that will help people accomplish what the guide is intended to help them do.
