Hey Blake, sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue. Could you please provide us with some additional details? If you could share a video of this occurring, it would be most helpful as we'll be able to isolate where the issue is occurring. Also, which version of the firmware are you using?

    Latest version 7.4.6

Only 408 splices, so the machine is very new. It's done this since the start. I'll try to get a video of it happening this weekend.

Thanks, Blake! Once we can review the video we'll have a much better idea as to what is causing this issue. We appreciate your patience.

I didn't see a way to embed the video to the site, so I've put it on streamable.

This occurred about 45 minutes into it running, about 30-40ish splices in.

As mentioned in the video, added the sticky note bit so you can see the wheel turn, it isn't on there during regular operation.

To update the post in case anyone is following it, I have spoken to support via chat. We have found that the cutter sensor might be actuating too early as shown in the attached picture. They will be chatting more tomorrow about possible fixes, I will continue to update this post in case it helps someone in the future.

Thanks for sharing this information with us. Based on the video, it does seem to be an issue with the homing switch. If you're working with our support chat, then it may be best to stay in touch with this representative, but if you require any replacement parts, please let us know (support@Mosaicmfg.com).

I'm searching for a solution and answer to all my failed print so far.

I've narrowed my problem down to being this problem to.

At the present time I'm trying to redo the problem manually. If I succeed reproducing the issues I'm seeing, your post describes exactly what I'm experiencing to.

    Thanks for posting.

Btw. Are you getting closer to a solution?

Hello, yeah I believe I have a fix. The support at Mosaic sent me an extra sensor (the one that detects the cutter wheel), and it didn’t work. I ran into the exact same issue.

But I ordered the Palette 2S upgrade kit and after installing it, the problem went away completely. I think I had two bad filament sensors in a row. If you contact support and tell them your problem, they might be able to send you a replacement part for free (and hopefully it will work for you. I think I just had really bad luck), or you can give them another $100 and hopefully that sensor works for you. (We didn’t do any testing to see if maybe replacing some other part was the fix, seems unlikely though. Maybe my splicer somehow? Idk.)

Just a note, the replacement part they sent me WAS for the palette 2S. So the upgrade kit part should have been no different.

Mosaic, if you’d like my defective parts back to examine to see if maybe it’s something you can test for to eliminate in QA, reach out to me, I’d be happy to help.

We're glad to hear that the replacement parts helped to solve the issue, Blake! No need to send us the defective parts, but thank you for the offer.

Simon, please feel free to message us at support@mosaicmfg.com and we can definitely send you a replacement if needed. Any additional information about the issues you're experiencing would also be helpful.

    Hi all.

Just yesterday I found out that Firmware Version 9.2.9 fixes the issue with blocking blade:
So that part of error can be left out. :-)

Thanks to Jonny Yeu for offering support and replacement. I will get back to you.

    Palette 2 Firmware Version 9.2.9 (Dec 10, 2019)

    Fixes

    - Fixed error 301/302 being incorrectly thrown when running Palette Calibration.
    - Fixed the Cancel button failing to cancel when loading inputs
    - Changed the cutter's home position to prevent filament jamming on the cutter blade.
    - Fixed back-up drives not being loaded in certain cases.

I'm having this same issue.   I'm on the latest firmware but the wheel is still in the wrong spot.
