The Palette 2 Pro specs have a support print speed from 80 - 135 mm/s. The preset print speed on Canvas' Prusa I3 MK3 is 150mm/s. Should it be a bit higher on the Palette 2 Pro specs? And would that also be a cause of error 121? Should "Speed Control" will help in reducing the buffer error? Please advise.

Hey Kinh! Apologize that you're running into issues. At the time of failure do you have and clogs in your splice core area? the 150mm/sec in the standard CANVAS profile is for travel speeds are you using the standard profile settings for Solid and perimeter speeds? They should be 50mm/sec each. You can certainly enable speed control when splicing to guard against the printer outpacing your Palette 2. Please let me know if that helps!

I too am having this issue. All my settings are default and the firmware is up to date. Beyond this it also wants to continue loading filament on its own well after the load sequence.

Hey Rob, is your homing switch's blue light turned on even when there is no filament loaded? Could you please share a picture of the plastic tab of your homing switch?

    Hi Manmeet,

This is an output filament of the last print and also represented for the previous 2 prints. I see no sight of bad splices that are caused by jamming in a splice core. I  calibrate the Palette and see the Palette is working. However, I'm really convincing that the fault code 121 is not reflecting on its description. This issue has happened only in the long print duration in my case. Secondly, how do I enable the "speed control" feature on Palette?

Hey Kinh, if strength on the splices look good I would just verify that the thickness is also within spec as the goal is 1.75 mm ± 0.1 mm. If not I would recommend splice tuning mm3d.co/p2splicetuning. Speed control is enabled by the following steps which can be found in the release notes from Palette 2 Plugin 2.1.0 http://mm3d.co/canvas-plugin-releasenotes

"Advanced Options functionalities now added to enhance the connected print experience. Users must go into the P2 Plugin settings to enable the display of these options (SETTINGS > PLUGINS > PALETTE 2 > ENABLE ADVANCED OPTIONS > SAVE). The following functionalities are optional for users:

    1. Print speed control during splices: Users may now adjust the speed of their printer’s feed rate during splices and regular printing. The value of the feed rates can be set at any point in a print - however, the feed rate adjustments will only be applied once the print starts. Slowing down the feed rate may help users prevent their printer from using filament faster than P2 is producing it. Please note: Printer must support M220 gcode commands for this functionality."

We will be releasing a firmware update by the end of the week to change this from an error to a warning so that it does not end prints as there seem to be a fair bit of false triggers occurring. As a short term fix you could revert back to the firmware prior to the introduction of this error code which can be found here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/mosaic-resources/palette2-fw/6-1-5.zip. We apologize for the issue and will have it resolved ASAP.

Antwanare Jones if you could also load older firmware you should not have this error code occur until we have it changed. Additionally with the extra filament feeding could you check what Jonny has mentioned and shoot us an email at support@mosaicmfg.com if you find an issue with that.

    Thanks,

    Manmeet

I reverted back to older firmware so error is gone, the filament continuous loading issue still exists. No lights are on the homing switch while filament is not loaded. Upon starting print from Palette 2, the filament just keeps loading. Originally it would stop with about 20mm of filament hanging out of small bowden tube so that I may load it into my printer

It sounds like you might have a switch not functioning correctly. Could you shoot a message to support@mosaicmfg.com if you haven't already so we can verify your shipping information?

    Thanks,

    Manmeet

Quick update for anyone experiencing issues with Error 121. The firmware team has pushed a new release of firmware sooner than expected to address this behaviour.

Palette 2 Firmware Version 7.4.6 (August 13 2019) is now available. Please open your firmware updater to install the latest version (http://mm3d.co/firmware).

    Major Changes:

    - Fixed behavior of Error 121 (buffer switch triggered incorrectly) from an error message to a warning that will not interrupt the print.

Please reach out with any questions or feedback from this release.
