Missing pings - every time

Hey Chuck, missed pings at the beginning of the print can be caused by bed leveling as the nozzle is sitting too close to the bed leading to underextrusion. However, could you please share pictures of your print/transition tower along with your pings with us? We'll take a look to see if we notice anything else that would be causing this error.

Will do...been printing quite well on my CR-10S before i added the P2Pro.  I am also using BLTouch, so the level is good.  The raft on the prints in question looked amazing.

I am going to start a new print and share the results.

OK...one thing is for sure...no matter what, I can recreate this issue each time with this print, specifically.  The only thing up with this print that is different from others I have printed successfully (including countless two-color keychains) is the raft.

I ran a new level with the BLTouch (UBL) and started it again.  Print output looked fantastic.  No clicking on extruder...no over extrusion I could see...

Let me know where I can send the gcode file.

Here is the output from the txt file for pings:

    snorlax

    PING (%)
    ===================
    Ping 1 99.69%
    Ping 2 MISSED
    Ping 3 MISSED
    Ping 4 MISSED
    Ping 5 93.75%
    Ping 6 92.97%
    Ping 7 97.97%
    Ping 8 97.93%
    Ping 9 97.93%
    Ping 10 97.93%
    Ping 11 110.36%

    Other relevant settings:

    • Hot end temp: 205
    • bed temp: 60
    • Sliced with Simplify3D
    • Print speed: 40 mm/s

Let me know if other data is needed.

    Chuck,

Look ling at your purge block it's hard to tell if there are waves in the layer or if it's the next layer of the block. Are you hearing any clicking coming from the extruder at all? Are other multi color prints without the raft registering pings correctly?

There are waves back there, Ed.  I just changed the ABL on my firmware from UBL to bilinear and seeing if that gives a better mesh for the print.  Something looks off about the first layer on that purge block.  Good eyes!!

If you are using Simpfly and you know your level is good. Check your first layer height and width. I fought that issue for a while thinking it was bed level. https://www.simplify3d.com/support/articles/perfecting-the-first-layer/
