Thanks, Steve. As someone who has never used a Pi before I had no idea where I should enter "upgrade pip"

This was my first exposure to a Pi as well. I had to Google it.

I get no such file or directory for the first line, and no such command for the second.  This worked:

/home/pi/oprint/bin/python -m pip install --upgrade pip

Where do we type in these commands?  I am on a Mac. I logged into my octopi.local interface, but can’t see where to put these commands.  Sorry I am really new to this Pi thing.

You use an SSH client to connect to the command line interface on the Pi. putty is available for the Mac. The default login is username pi, password raspberry

Then type the commands. Here's an example:

    pi@octopi:~ $ source ~/oprint/bin/activate
(oprint) pi@octopi:~ $ pip install --upgrade pip

FWIW, I see that the next version of Octoprint will have an option to turn off the pip version nag (but one will have to edit the command that launches Octoprint to turn it on.)
