Its always great to learn about who we're actually speaking to online. Putting a face to a name, and a backstory to that face will help build stronger bonds in the community.
A lot of people here also attend MakerFaires, conferences and 3D printing meetups. If you're comfortable, posting up a photo or a (general) location as to where you are might bring the online connections offline to the real world.
I think three areas are really important:
1) Personal - name/photo (if you're comfortable), geographic region, and a bit of background on you
2) Occupation - its always interesting to learn what people involved with 3D printing do for a living
3) Printing Experience - what you like to print, and any printers you have experience with.
As they say, lead by example:
My name is Chris - I was born in Montreal, spent around two decades in the US (notably New Jersey and Pittsburgh), and have lived in Canada (Toronto/Ontario) for the past six years or so.
I'm one of the co-founders of Mosaic. My experience with 3D printing started back on Mitch's (one of Mosaic's other founders) MakerGear M2, then on a Wanhao 4s - a printer who's extruder I could probably re-assemble with a blindfold on by now.....
I usually lean towards printing 1 of 2 things - either functional prints - or design/visual prints (an aspect I'm definitely biased towards as someone at Mosaic.) Experience with lots of different machines - Type A, Rep 2, Orion, Printrbot, Craftbot, Dremel 3D40 & 3D20, MakerGear M2, MonoPrice Select Mini, and a few others I'm blanking on at the moment.
Hope this helps give an example - if anyone has suggestions to tweaking the template post them up, we're all ears.
