This is good, but really need info and all this capability in Canvas too. For example there is no way to adjust minimum transition length in Canvas, or at least it doesnot accept an entry.

Hey Wmmc01, thanks for the suggestion! We're still building in Side Transitioning into CANVAS so it's not as in-depth as with Chroma, but we expect to have it fully built into the system in the new year.

And way to adjust the side transition?
I cant purge in place because a few lines later i get a time out.
Is there a way to just move it between two X/Y position?
Picking East seems to run it all the way up and down the Y axis which hits a bed clip on the forst few layers

Hey Jermaul, you could always use Movement pings so that your extrude is moving even when pinging. There's no way to run it between two specific X/Y points, but you could run it along the South edge of your print bed.

Hey Andreas, we just released a fix this morning for side transitions in CANVAS, could you please try and re-slice the project again?

    Hi Jonny,

I found this thread by seraching 'no ping' - I also tried side transition and got the same problem as Andreas wrote, but in my case I used Chroma (v3.1.3) because I want to use the features available in Slic3rPE.
I conclude Chroma suffers from same 'no ping' bug, right? Are there any estimates regarding Chroma update? Or other way around: (how) can I import gcode from Slic3r (with Palette2 ready settings of course) as Chroma does?

Hi Dietrich, which printer are you using? And have your tried to turn on Movement Pauses when using side transitioning?

    Hi Jonny,

My Printer is Prusa MK3. I tried side transition with little prints, fishing out the side transition by using a flat PLA what works pretty well so far.
I did not try movement pause yet and it's more dangerous to handle it in my case I'm afraid.

However meanwhile after some more tests I also got no ping errors in other settings, also using transition tower (e.g. it seems problematic if the print is 'too small', containing only few or even no pings), what indicates a different problem than this thread is about..

Sorry for the noise, I'm newbie and keep researching..

Hi Dietrich, thanks for this information, there's no need to apologize! If you're not receiving pings even with a transition tower, this suggest that it is a calibration issue instead of a side transition issue. Could you please send us some additional information:

    • Pictures of your print and transition tower
    • A list of the pings from a recent transition tower print
    • If possible, a picture of your calibration keychain and the bottom of its transition tower

If you could please send this to support@mosaicmfg.com, we'll take a look to see if any adjustments are needed to your calibration in order to receive pings.
