When using CANVAS Hub (S) or OctoPrint, the Palette 2 plugin (v2.1.0 and up) includes advanced settings that provide more control during Palette printing.
Enable Advanced Options
- Launch CANVAS Hub and visit the CANVAS Hub/Octoprint web page. Go to Settings > Palette > Select Enable Advanced Options and Save. You may be required to refresh the web page.
- Go to the Palette tab, and you will now have the following options available.
Enable Ping Display On Printer
In addition to having the pings display under the Palette tab and Palette's screen, you can enable the option to display pings on the printer's screen display as they occur.
Enable Cancel Print On Ping Variation
This setting will work with firmware (v9.0.9) and Palette 2 plugin (v2.3.1). Enabling this setting will stop prints if a ping offset is less or greater than the acceptable ping variation range. Often when pings deviate more than 3%, colors can begin to fall off calibration leading to incorrect layers or stripes. You may enable this setting if you are unable to monitor a print in person or with a webcam, and unable to intervene if a print begins to fall off calibration.
Note: On firmware version 9.0.9, missed pings have been removed from connected mode printing (the ping will display, even if it's outside the ping gates of 80%-120%).
Enable Print Speed Control During Splices
This setting can help with buffer issues (the filament wraps tightly around the buffer switch but does not release) and/or with decreasing print times.
Using this setting will allow you to live adjust your print speed based on a percentage. For example, to slow down during splice, you may enter 50% in the "Splicing Feed Rate" setting to slow down your print speed by half. Your normal feed rate speed can also be live adjusted here. This allows Palette enough time to create a splice while also increasing the print speed when Palette is running in between splices.
