Introduction
Layer Batching (also known as "Sequential Printing" or "Object-by-Object Printing" depending on the slicer) allows you to print multiple layers of a model with the same filament before transitioning to the next filament. After the first few layers of one colour, your printer's extruder will then move back down to where the next colour starts and continue to print with the next filament. Layer batching and can help reduce the number of transitions in a print (which reduces both filament waste and print times).

Select this option in your slicer, process the file, and load the GCode file into Chroma.
-
Chroma will automatically detect Layer Batching and adjust to these settings and complete your print sequentially.
-
Depending on your nozzle's geometry and vertical clearance, it may be possible to reduce the number of transitions in a print by 75% or more!
-
This feature works best with models that do not have overlapping STLs in the Z-axis. We recommend getting familiar with Layer Batching with single-colour printing before using it with your Palette+.
