Supports customization is very poor

Canvas is a really neat product but I cannot get past how poor and undeveloped the slicer works with supports. For one, the default settings are awful and will cause the supports to bind solidly to the model - no good. Worse yet, only one support pattern is provided and the support geometry is very likely to end up aligning with the layer it is supporting such that most of the extrusion on the first layer is in fact not supported at all, making the supports useless. There is no way to overcome this - even turning the model causes the whole support base to turn with it. This really needs to be fixed as right now I have to choose between either using the GREAT painting feature in Canvas, OR I have to splice externally and use Chroma to generate the transition tower.

No problem, see here.

I'd further suggest that support material be able to be used as transition material, similarly to how this is allowed for infill. If added, this feature should not use the support layer closest to the model as infill as the material will contact and mix.
