Filament jam auto pause

I have a 2 pro in connected mode with a raspberry pi running octoprint and the canvas plugin. I left the print for a while and when I came back the printer had finished however only half the print was done so had been Air printing for some time. The palette was making a loud clicking sound as if it was trying to feed filament still but couldn’t . I immediately turned the palette off. The filament was very tight so took me a while to pull the filament out from the Bowden at the printer to cut it.

In octoprint I set it to auto pause the printer if the pings/pongs go out with a certain range, now I thought a jam would do this, is there any reason why the print wouldn’t automatically be paused when a jam occurs?

Hey @tbeest, thanks for reaching out about this and sorry for the trouble. If the jam occurred in the splice tube (inside Palette), then Palette should be able to stop the print. However, if the jam occurred in the extruder or there was an issue with filament anywhere outside the splice core, then unfortunately Palette does not have a way of detecting this.
