Is there a Load Filament option in Canvas s Hub?

I am running in to issues with using the Canvas Hub s with my Snapmaker 2 (Marlin based firmware). The problem is that I can’t get through the initial setup because I have to load the filament, but there is no button I can find to load the filament in canvas hub’s UI and if I use the control panel for my printer, it disconnects the Canvas Hub and I’m dead in the water.

It looks like M701 can trigger a filament load, I suppose I could send this manually, but is there a control button that can send M701 or a possibility of having one added for when printers need a Load Filament/Unload Filament sent for load operations?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hey @ajh, thanks for your question. While there is no option to load filament into the extruder on the Hub page, you should be able to do this manually through the printer screen without the Hub disconnecting. Could you try to replicate the error, then download the OctoPrint log (instructions here), and send it to us at support@mosaicmfg.com? We can take a look at what’s happening when you try to load filament on the printer.

The local control panel cutting off octoprint is a known issue. The Snapmaker 2 seems to cut off USB when doing local control panel control to avoid conflicting inputs. It's an issue that's been experienced by numerous people when working with the Snapmaker and USB control.

@ajh I see, okay thank you for clarifying. I will pass on this information to the Hub team to see if this is a feature we can implement on the Hub page in the future.

Aj, you can control feed with Octoprint or Auto Feed on the Palette itself. I had similar issues when I was first getting used to the setup between Palette, Raspberry Pi (Canvas Hub) and the A350. its best to leave the control on the A350 alone and utilize the plugins available for Octoprint to control the extrusion on the A350 ... can be controlled down to the millimetre. took me a while to practice this with loading the filament. and in fact I had to do a full restore on the palette to get it to work properly as I had upset the calibration for initial feed and the filament timing for splices was way out.. it is working well now though. good luck and please don't hesitate to reach out .. I am always willing to help out where I can.
