filament 3 always makes bad splices about 1 hour into print.

So i am making a 3 color model and about 40-90 min into a print a splice made with color number 3 always fails.

I tried putting that filament into number 4 and having the machine use 1,2 and 4 and the print finished with out failure.

Is it possible to just check that number 3 isn’t loosing steps? I’ve cleaned the gears thinking that was the problem but it didn’t help.

No matter what filament i put in number 3. after some time into the print i will have a weak splice. I am unsure what is happening.

Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

Hey @tekublack, thanks for reaching out about this. It is unlikely that a certain input would have an effect on the splice, as the splice settings are applied only when the filament is inside the core. It is best to first run splice tuning with our filament, to make sure your splice settings are correct (instructions here). However, we can still check the health of your third motor just in case. Could you please send us a quick email to about this issue, and we can take you through the necessary steps? Thank you!
