How do I change the color at a specific height?

I have a basic rectangle lets say 50mm high, trying to have it start printing with color 1, transition to color 2 at 10mm, transition to color 3 at 30mm and to color 4 at 40mm all while printing into the infill for the wipes and transitions.

Since the models has no boundaries, I can’t see how to paint it.

If I can’t do this in Canvas, can I do it in Slic3r and have Palette 2Pro do the filament color changes?

Hey @sworcester, thanks for your question. While you can’t specify colour changes for certain heights in Canvas (you can only manually paint or apply colours to separate STL’s), you are able to use PrusaSlicer with Palette. You will need to use Chroma (our free post-processor) to prepare your files from PrusaSlicer for Palette and your printer.

I figured it out, not real intuitive, mostly because I needed to change the extruder at the desired layer height but figured it out.

When I prepare in Chroma, does Chroma change any of the settings I have done with Slic3r?

I noticed it has filament profiles, but I think those are only for the splicing portion

Comments:

Hey Steve, Chroma should not change any of your Slic3r settings - the material profiles, as you mentioned, are to tell Palette which splice settings to use (combination of heat, compression, cool) when binding filament.
