Could not start bootloader or port is not open.

Hi,

When I updating my palette 2 pro Firmware, I mistakenly power off the palette, then errors occured. I followed the “Troubleshooting Firmware - Update Incomplete”, and choose software bootloader, it signals error “Could not start bootloader“ or “port is not open“. Now the screen of palette does not show anything, what should I do?

Hi, I have received the jumper, and following the instruction, but it still not work. When I Select Main and upload file 'P2EE01.bin , I found the firmware updater still not upload anything to the palette 2 pro. I changed several computers to try to finish this step, but still failed. Should I send my palette 2 pro to you to find what is wrong with it?

Hey @reece, thanks for letting us know. Could you confirm for me that you have followed the steps here with the jumper (mm3d.co/screenfw-troubleshooting) and power cycled Palette after installing firmware on the screen board? Did you get any errors while flashing the screen board? Which error did you get when flashing the main board? This will help us determine which replacement component to send to you, if necessary. Thank you, Alina. I totally follow the step that you mentioned, while it doesn't work, the screen still not flashing. When the pallete connect to my computer, I chose the advanced options, and follow the step that with jumper, then chose Hardware bootloader. But when I upload the "P2EE01.bin", the progress bar doesn't move. So I chose software bootloader or normal bootloader, it signals “Could not start bootloader“ or “port is not open“.

Hey @reece, were you able to load the file P2EE02.bin to "Screen" before attempting to load P2EE01.bin to "Main"?

Hi there, I have the same issue. My PC detects the palette 2 but the Firmware Update doesn't.

@alexdapa Are you able to see a COM port in the dropdown menu on the updater? If not, could you try out the troubleshooting steps in step 6 here (mm3d.co/firmwaretroubleshooting)? If you are still not able to see a COM port after these steps, please email me your shipping address to alina@mosaicmfg.com so we can send you a replacement I/O board. Thank you!

If your screen went out during the firmware update, please follow the instructions here to jump the screen board and then update the firmware onto each board individually. ciao durante l’aggiornamento non riesco a selezionare il Software bootloader ma solo il normal. Ho provato comunque a fare l’ultimo aggiornamento e tutto è andato bene. Ma mi chiedo :-Ho sbagliato a farlo senza riuscire a selezionare Bootloader software ?
