Canvas Hub camera URL invalid

Have a Canvas Hub S connected to a Palette 2 S Pro & logged into local wifi. Everything is hooked up and working. Also connected to the hub is a Microsoft LifeCam Studio (on the list of tested webcams). The video stream is not available, and the URL suggested on the CONTROL page (http://xxxx-xx-canvas-hub.local:8081/?ac...) is not recognized by the browser. The base address does access the hub successfully. Win10, Chrome browser, Octoprint 1.9.0, and the camera settings within windows are set to allow desktop app access. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Solved!

Actually I'm not sure that is the proper title, but....

Frustration reached the ultimate level. So I uninstalled everything (including Bonjour), and went thru the installation process again and voila!

She works.

None of the original settings were changed, but the problem resolved, so something in the installation was causing the issue.

Thanks @aordono for your efforts

Thank you for the update, I apologize I was unable to find the true cause here. Did you complete a fresh install of the hub, by resetting it and flashing a new image file? mm3d.co/canvashub-reset

Hi @denesius, please double check that:

Please let me know how that goes, thank you!

Update (06.08.2023)

Hi again @denesius, can you clarify if you are entering the stream URL in the Webcam settings, and not entering it into the web browser? If the URL stream is correct and entered on the Webcam settings, upon refresh the stream view should display on the Control tab.

Thanks for the quick response. I already tried both of those suggestions. As I mentioned, the base address "http://xxxx-xx-canvas-hub.local" brings up the hub successfully. The addition of the port address causes rejection. Could it be on a different port address?

@aordono - The stream URL (in your screenshot) is filled with the same URL I had listed before. This is the address that my browser won't recognize. I have included the screenshots from the other setup pages. I'm ready to delete everything and reprogram, but not sure that would solve anything!

I will look into this further, @denesius.

Please also check that the webcam settings for resolution/frame rate are configured correctly in the webcam package, this also affects the ability to stream.

I recall having to restart Octoprint after saving the URL in the webcam settings. I have seen better luck with the IP address used, can you try using the IP instead of the serial number url once more, save the webcam settings, and then use the Octoprint power options to restart?

Just clarifying the right URL with IP address:

http://xxx.xxx.x.xxx:8081/?action=stream

Any changes to the configuration settings in the webcam package would also require a restart.

Yup!

Tried the direct address route, same thing: the IP address (192.168.1.15) brings up the menu page, but adding the port address leads to 'not found'.

The camera is a Microsoft product, so the webcam settings are set automatically. I'll look into reducing the R/FR settings, but the camera as is works in other apps.

I still suspect this is a port ID issue....?
