Smart Feed Overfed by 280mm

Using the smart feed option, the palette overfed the printer by 280mm... I want to use the smart feed option, as much as I could do this manually much easier apparently... how do I debug this issue? It is an unbelievably absurd amount to overfeed by.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @ktaeyln, thanks for getting in touch.

First, please could you check the length of your outgoing tube, and your Loading Offset value - this should be the distance from the end of Palette's outgoing tube to your printer's nozzle. Double check both these measurements and edit them, if needed, on Palette: Printers > Your printer > Edit calibration data. An incorrect LO and/or outgoing tube length would be the most likely cause of this issue.

If this does not resolve the issue, please could you share the following:
- a picture of your edit calibration data screen
- a video showing your loading process

You can also test your encoder in X-ray mode - please make sure to follow the directions in the article.

You can provide the above to support@mosaicmfg.com if you prefer - you may need to use a file transfer service like WeTransfer or Dropbox to share the video.

Thank you,
Guy

The length of the outgoing tube is set perfectly, it feeds into the intake of the printer itself just enough to catch, than I hit smart feed and it decides to feed an additional 280mm of filament in when it has already reached the perfect length. Regardless, and why I mentioned smartfeed is that your solution ignores the fact that smartfeed is only available AFTER its fed through the tube, so why the length of the tube would get brought up is beyond me.[br]

I can just manually rotate the feeder and manually feed it, and it prints perfectly. The second I hit smart feed, which I would like to know how to use, it decides on an arbitrary amount of 280mm to feed into the printer, when its already at the printer...[br]

I'll make a video later today and post it as an update, demonstrating that it feeds the filament UP TO the printer, with just enough to feed into the printer, than when I hit smart feed (after the tube length no longer has relevance), it just wastes an insane amount for no reason at all.

Hi @ktaeyln, please could you share a picture of your setup and your edit calibration data screen. In particular, this issue could be caused by an incorrect Loading Offset. This should be the length from the end of Palette's outgoing tube to your printer's nozzle - please double-check this value
