New profile will not center.

When I place an object on Canvas to paint it is in the center of the work space. My printer profile is set to place object in the center of my bed. But when I go to print the gcode is placing the center of the object at 0,0 and not in the center of the print bed. I have deleted the profile and redid many time, still the same. I cleared my cache on tried again, still no luck. Any suggestion….

Hey @printerstan, thanks for reaching out about this. Could you share the CANVAS project with us (instructions here) so we can take a look on our end? Please make sure to share your model and printer profile as well. Thanks for your patience.

@printerstan Could you create the share link once more, but this time select to share the model as well as the printer profile? Thanks!

Sorry for the delay. Here is the link

No problem Stanley, unfortunately though this new link also only contains the printer and style profile - could you select to share the model, as well as the printer profile? We would need to take a look at how your model is placed on the bed, as well as download the GCode for this project.

Hey @annelore, thanks for providing that. It looks like Jonny is helping you out with this issue over email - can you change the origin to bottom left as he had suggested and let us know if this solves the issue? Thanks for your understanding.

I been wasting lots of filament trying to print a model with the same issue when the printer canvas hub and palette start printing the print goes to a 0,0 corner instead of the center as I choose in canvas.

trying to figure out the issue reflashed my new S-Hub, reset to factory defaults my Palette 2 S-Pro without success. Thinking could be my printer I print a test part with no issues.

Today I followed the tutorial to print with canvas and palette, update again the firmware on palette, and looks like the culprit is “CANVAS” after the two files one for the palette and the other for the printer has the same issue the model been print goes to the 0,0 instead of the middle and the printer just pour molten plastic in the corner.

Im using an FT-5 printer with center to start printing I believe the configuration of the printer is correct in Canvas.

One question that I have is why canvas and Hub, must have the printer configuration I believe this could cause issues.

You must focus in developing the Chroma app to use with the palette and develop a better programing on the palette so there is “0” waste of plastic and no waste tower I believe this is achievable

Last wish I have is a feature on Canvas or Palette to do a dry run so there is no waste of filament

Thanks

Also change the print start to a corner 0,0 with same results

last thing will use chroma to do the printing, will post results

@carlosb72 Thanks for letting us know about this. The project you shared has the keychain and tower not in the centre - if you move them to centre using the menu in the top left corner and then slice, does the printer still start printing in the left hand corner?

by

Sadly I try moving the model to diferent positions on the print bed after sliced and sent to print it does the same thing.

I see the issue of using a cloud app. I believe there are parameters that can be modified by the many apps controling how your computer goes to internet the type and brand of browser your nic card the firewal, the antivirus etc.

if you have the canvas as windows installer I will love to try on my computer.

@carlosb72 Hey Carlos, most printers have a bottom left origin, could you try changing this in your printer profile on CANVAS (edit -> bed -> bottom-left) to see if this helps? Unfortunately, there is no offline option for CANVAS.
