Filament Constantly runs through machine upon changing

My palette 2 (not S) used to show this behavior: When I load in new filament I manually feed it into the drive gears. It catches and feeds the filament in until it reaches just before the splice core, then backs it out into a ready position.

Now my palette 2 shows this behavior: When I load in new filament I manually feed it into the drive gears. It catches and feeds the filament past the splice core, through the loop, and almost out of the machine. Before the filament reaches the output there is a gear grinding noise and the filament is trapped inside the machine.

How can this be fixed? It seems like there is some filament sensor that is not detecting the filament as it nears the splice core.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey @ksudheim, thanks for reaching out about this. It sounds like you need a replacement homing switch, which is located right below the cutter wheel. If you go to Settings —> About —> Next —> Next on Palette, you can test the health of your homing switch by observing if it says “Pressed” when there is filament past it, versus “Not Pressed” when there is no filament present. Please send us an email to support@mosaicmfg.com with your shipping address and order information (i.e. order number or receipt), so we can send you a replacement switch. Thanks for your patience!
