just opened palette 3 pro and it wont connect to my printer.

updated firmware over ethernet, wifi wont connect. plugging the printer into the palette restarts marlin as if it connected but the palette doesnt recognize it. ive tried with the usb port and baud rate selected and no change. setting it to auto—connect just makes the printer reset over and over again. tried to factory reset the palette and no change. tried to do usb firmware update and it doesnt see the files on the drive. printer is a diy i3 with a mks base variant as the board

Hey Jesse, sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues.

For the WiFi issue,

  • Are you using a 2.4 GHZ network? Please note Palette will only connect to these networks.

* do you have any special characters in the network name/password (e.g. #,@, etc.)? If so, please change it to not include these and re-attempt connecting.

For the connection:

  • Does your Palette detect any files via USB?
  • Have you tried a different USB cord?

wifi im not so concerned about, yes its both 2.4 and 5ghz no theres no wierd characters, it shows up and i enter the password and I hit the green arrow and it goes to a different screen. Palette has not shown any files via usb, ive tried using the usb cord i was using for octoprint and nothing. I tried a random board i had laying around and got that to connect instantly. It seems like when the firmware reboots on the printer when i hit connect, the palette doesnt wait long enough for the firmware to actually finish booting.

Well i can answer a bit too
if u hung up the device against a wall or its in a lower conn zone i did find out that the wifi chip in the palette is crap unless the connection is at least 80% strong it stutters continuesly.

with me it staid excellent connection but a few minutes up and it fell away then back then away again. after placing a repeater next to it it works again normally so its the quality of the connection it receives

i tested the connection power and with me at the device location it was 78% yet to low for it to propperly keep its connection., so in the end i wired it up..
