CANVAS Slice did not work properly with Keychain Calibration Models

CANVAS Slice did not work properly with Keychain Calibration Models

The more print I did with the Keychain Calibration Models, the more problems I found. I really do not know what is going on here.

Update (08/26/2020)

I tried and removed the Raft, suddenly the slice / print have ALL GONE CRAZY (see below). Please check and confirm ASAP. Thx:

1, Palette 2S Pro (P2) (saying 2.5m only, 6.4m before) FINISHED so early while CANVAS Hub S (saying 4.41m only, 6.08m before WITH Raft) continued to print for another 50 minutes, even without filaments being fed from P2

Update (09/12/2020)

I could NOT even get a SUCCESSFUL 2 colour print of the Calibration Keychain (CKCM) for 1 MONTH NOW!

At the moment I am still trying to answer Mosaic Support requests to print their CKCM BUT ALL FAILED!

Should it be that DIFFICULT to get ALL their GEARS to work together and print their CKCM FULLY & SUCCESSFULLY?

ALL THE GEARS except the 3DP are Mosaic PRODUCTS including the CKCM & SLICING SOFTWARE!

The WORST part is that the ENTIRE Print Process (Model > Colouring > Slicing > Slice File Transfer > Colour Control > Print Control) is UNCONTROLLABLE, UNPREDICTABLE, UNACCEPTABLE ......

despite of ALL COMPONENTS (except the 3D Printer) are Mosaic PRODUCTS.

I HAVE NOT STARTED TO PRINT ANYTHING OF MY OWN YET!

Update (09/12/2020)

Here are my issues STILL:

A. Abbreviation:

CV – CANVAS

CVHS - CANVAS Hub S

P2SP - Palette 2S Pro

3DP – 3D-Printer

CKCM – Calibration KeyCchain Model

1. Slice file (gcode) was executed differently and showing different info on CVHS and

P2SP. STILL WHY? WHY? WHY?

2. Hence, I still believe either CVHS or P2SP or BOTH are FAULTY.

3. OR ELSE CV is NOT Slicing properly and does NOT generate CORRECT Slice file (gcode).

4. I found 3 sets of info were different. STILL WHY? WHY? WHY?:

a. CV

b. P2SP

c. CVHS

5. P2SP – Finished Print EARLIER in BOTH PRINTS ( ISSUE: Finished print more than

20 minutes earlier than CVHS & 3DP)

6. CVHS & 3DP – continued to print, Finished Print (ISSUE: P2SP stopped feeding

filament to 3DP since P2SP has finished)

7. Check CKCM print - TOP (ISSUE: TOP part of the CKCM print was MISSING)

8. Check CKCM print - BOTTOM (ISSUE: Colour MISALIGNED)

Update (09/12/2020)

I am EXTREMELY disappointed on ALL the EXPENSIVE Mosaic products and Mosaic Support so far.

They certainly do NOT perform up to the STANDARD or their CLAIMS.

There is NO PRODUCTIVE advice from Mosaic Support so far which HELPS.

There is NO IMPROVEMENT on my 3D-Print so far, in fact, it is TOTALLY HALTED.

Update (09/21/2020)

@alina

I have concluded that your CV Slicing is INCONSISTENT in generating the Slice File for your CKCM. Please refer to the details for the 2 Print Jobs

below. They came from the SAME Project in CV but totally different behaviour in P2SP with just a minor change in CV Printer - Bowden Tube Length and then RE-SLICED! Maybe you can explain why!

I tried over 10 more CKCM prints with different ways and sequences of the setup steps but the prints are inconsistent - still found majority (except 2 prints #184 and #185

completed the top with only small part missing) failed and missing top parts since P2SP finished at least 20 minutes earlier than CVHS / 3DP with much less length

of filament. CV produces identical Slicing results for the same settings, which are different from P2SP.

Please check my conclusions for your CKCM based on the details for the 2 Print Jobs below and confirm ASAP:

Apparently, either

CV has issue in slicing and/or generating slice file properly for P2SP;

Or

P2SP is not responding to CV's slice file properly.

I have to stress again here.

I don't believe my Extruder / 3DP is causing these issues. I managed to print your CKCM with the colour in place (#184 & #185).

I am NOT talking about QUALITY HERE, I ONLY WANT P2SP to print your CKCM FULLY! ALL YOUR SOLUTIONS DID NOT HELP IN SOLVING MY ISSUES!

At the moment I am still trying to answer your requests to print your CKCM BUT ALL FAILED! Should it be that DIFFICULT to get ALL your GEARS to work together and print your

CKCM FULLY & SUCCESSFULLY? As I mentioned many times, ALL THE GEARS except the 3DP are your PRODUCTS including the CKCM & SLICING SOFTWARE! I HAVE NOT STARTED TO PRINT

Update (09/22/2020)

@alina

The key here is not #184. I am only showing you the best 2 (but still INCOMPLETE) that I have printed so far. Hence I only include the photos (always cover the BOTTOM if you can find it!) but did not include other details.

The key here are #185 & #189! I HAVE INCLUDED EVERYTHING YOU ASKED FOR IF YOU READ MY LATEST UPDATES CAREFULLY! All their details are grouped in the appropriate and relevant sections. The filenames are all unique with date stamp and sequencing! I could not help you if you could not find them even they are all under your nose.

As per your feedback here, yet again you have not answered my questions. It means that you cannot help me at all since you are only repeating your so called 'solutions' which did not help so far, especially for #184 & #185 prints. I doubt it very much they would achieve anything even if I followed your recommendations further. By the look at the precision and accuracy of the 3DP you are asking for, it would have to be an industrial standard 3DP!

Just use a bit common sense, how can the 2 prints (#185 & #189) look so vastly different? It was only less than 2 days between the 2 prints on the same projects, gears & 3DP! Under extrusion and bed levelling of my 3DP and splice tuning should not have produced such effects between the 2 prints! I believe only the Slice files will! However, they are out of my control. Anyway, none of your recommendations helped in #185 print in order to get the colour in place! Of course, it applies to #184 print too.

After all these, I have totally given up on your products now. I will not waste any more time, efforts and materials in fulfilling your same requests again, again and again.

If it is so difficult for you to resolve these issues, then I have no choice but to demand a FULL REFUND of USD$799.00 and your Company to pay for the shipment and arrange the

collection of the parcel. Please initiate such process and direct me to the proper personnel / department of your Company for the above FULL REFUND demand.

Thank you for patience and help so far.

Update (09/22/2020)

If you chose not to answer my questions, that is fine with me! I doubt them very much to be useful anyway.

The full ping data for my most recent prints are all under your nose in my last updates. Please refer to the screenshots:

Is this a good question?

Comments:

Your keychain print #184 was the best print. The small patches are not missing parts, but signs of under extrusion. If you print another keychain like this, please download the full ping data (please name the download file with the number of the print so I know which keychain print it corresponds to) and email it to me (alina@mosaicmfg.com). I need to see the full ping data and know which print it corresponds to. I also need to see the bottom of the tower, please take a photo next time.

Your splice settings for keychain 184 were 0,0,0. Were these the splice settings you found to create successful splices when you ran a splice tuning test (instructions here: mm3d.co/splice-tuning)?

by

As I mentioned previously, you need to finish calibrating your extruder (including extrusion multiplier) before adding Palette and make sure your bed is level. This will help with your issue of under extrusion and low pings. After you finish this, then you can reset Palette to factory defaults and try a new keychain. With this new keychain, please download the full ping data and take a photo of the top and bottom of the print.

Hey @tang8555, please refer to the email I sent you which requires me to gather more information to troubleshoot this issue. Unfortunately, the CANVAS projects you shared do not include the model, so I cannot assess your keychain project. I would also need your full ping data (instructions to download here), as well as photos of your Palette and printer setup, with a focus on the filament entering the extruder, with the extruder clip. Please send this information in the email I sent you and we can go from there. Thanks for your patience.

Update (09/14/2020)

Hey @tang8555, in order to provide you with the best assistance, it would be best to continue this conversation through our e-mail thread. It's much easier to organize and follow a user's support ticket if all information and attachments are within one place - please check back to our e-mail ticket and we will continue helping you get calibrated. If any users have a similar issue, please also feel free to message our support team at support@mosaicmfg.com

Update (09/22/2020)

Hi @tang8555, I’m sorry to hear that. We do think that with a thorough extruder calibration and splice tuning, you would see much better results. Unfortunately, we do not allow returns. You can read more about our return policy here. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns, or if you would like to continue working on this - I’m happy to help. Although you did provide photos of the pings on the Hub page, I do need the full ping data for your most recent print, you can find the instructions to download the ping data here. Please email it to me at alina@mosaicmfg.com - thanks!

Update (09/23/2020)

Thank you for the clarification. If you are curious as to why the information is different between prints (i.e. keychain 185 and 189), this is because every time you reset Palette to factory defaults and start a new calibration print, the loading process is different. You may have stopped extruding earlier or later, which changes your loading offset, which then changes how many pings you can see. The pings themselves can be different every time, depending on how your printer extruded. Your loading offset (distance from Palette to your printer) seems to be very large, which is why you’re only seeing a couple of pings. Most of the splicing is done before the filament is even extruded, so the remaining pings are ignored by Palette since pings are only relevant when splices need to be made. We still suggest the following steps to improve your prints and experience:

1. Finish the extruder calibration process, including the extrusion multiplier, so that your printer is extruding consistently. Palette needs to be able to predict how much filament your printer is extruding in order to create the accurate lengths of filament for future layers.

2. Make sure the bed is level (in keychain 185, your initial pings were low and then got high, which is a sign that your nozzle was too close to the bed initially, causing under extrusion, reflected as a low ping).

3. Make sure the filament is always constrained in a tube on the way to the extruder. You have an area where the filament is free - this can cause the filament to be pulled inconsistently, reflected as variation in pings.

Block Image

4. Change your setup to use the smallest tube (500 mm). Since you already have the extra Bowden path for your filament to go through, you want to make the outgoing tube is as short as possible to make calibration easier.

1. Unfortunately, the CANVAS projects you shared do not include the model, so I cannot assess your keychain project.

- I do not know why, Model option was faded and cannot be selected when I shared these 2 projects in CANVAS.

- I thought I might have shared 3 other projects with the SAME model before in my other questions, it probably did not let me share it.

- hence, I could not share the models for these 2 projects. You are in the best position to tell me why!

2. full ping data

- as I mentioned in my question, there were only 2 pings and they were in the screenshots including the P2 screen for the whole printing processes. Hence, there is no point to download the file.

- Again, you are in the best position to tell me why the BIG drop in # of pings!

by

@alina

3. photos of your Palette and printer setup, with a focus on the filament entering the extruder, with the extruder clip.

- it was also included in my question if you read carefully and thoroughly.

- please refer to the video I took and it illustrated my setup of Palette and printer setup, with a focus on the filament entering the extruder (there is no blockage and it is smooth - SMART LOAD has no problem for 737mm!), with the extruder clip.

- Again, you are in the best position to tell me why P2 info varied vastly from the CANVAS Hub S info.

4. I need the ANSWERS to ALL my questions and problems ASAP as ALL your products DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I AM TOTALLY OUT OF ACTION!
