How to restart a multi-material print at a specific layer?

I just had my nozzle clog on a multi-day print and I wanted to try and recover by editing the .gcode manually to begin at layer xx in the file.

I’ve done this successfully with single-material prints by removing the gcode instructions for all layers prior to xx, saving this as a new .gcode file, and printing the remaining lines as a way to restart where the clog happened.

Is it possible to do something similar with multi-material prints, given the complexity of the calculations the Palette 2 Pro has to do on the filament?

Hey @cmantra, that’s a good question and one that we have been thinking about for quite some time. Unfortunately, this is not currently possible. While you can pause the print and restart it, if you have to completely stop the print and remove the filament from the extruder, you would have to start the print over again. We are working on a recovery process for the future, but for now as you mentioned, it is too complex to simply edit the GCode and start from a certain layer.
