When i slice the model in canvas it creates holes in the model. No other slicer does this and i’ve already checked that the model is manifold. i’m not sure what to do to solve this

Use another slicer with the P2PP gcode post-processor. Or … I just added Palette3 support in the latest dev version of Kiri:Moto (3.1.D) … it outputs both gcode and MAFX files to use the P3 in accessory mode. I’m going to make a video shortly that covers setup and use.

using a different slicer and having to mark out pathways as nozzle 1 and nozzle 2 seems like even more of a pain than painting out the models for multi-color prints. If that's the only way then I may as well just actually paint them afterwards :/ Also I have a Palette2 and not a 3 yet

Canvas seems to have a mind of it's own when slicing certain models, especially when they have thin surfaces or lots of vertices. If you can, try outputting the model with a lower resolution (less vertices) and see if it slices properly.

I'm not sure how to do that? Also not sure that will work for this model as it's got a lot of detail. Would making the shell thicker solve it?

@atomsplitter5 that would depend on the modeling software, usually when you export to STL there's a "quality" or "detail" slider. In this case, you might only need to move the slider by 1 or 2 percent, just to change where the sets of vertices are, and have the slicer interpret it differently.
Either way, it's a definite area for improvement for the canvas slicer. Cura, S3d, PrusaSlicer, and just about every other slicer I know of have at least some level of mesh error correction built in, so the fact that Canvas doesn't is a sure let-down.
