Bumping this post - this is seriously needed…
In the webpage guides for the custom modes (random, gradient, pattern) it shows the ability to set splice settings for the run, but when I select these modes on my Palette 3, no options for splice settings show up.
I’m trying to run a random mode print where the plastics being fed need a bit of extra heat (+3 heat time) to fuse properly, but without an option to set the extra heat time, the splices all snap as soon as the printer puts even the slightest tension on the filament.
Ideally, it’d be great to be able to configure material set profiles to be used in these custom modes, where users could define a whole set of splice settings like in Canvas slicing, that way random, pattern, gradient, and eventually multi-spool and runout modes will be able to have the proper settings for splices.
This is yet another example of the user manual & web guides showing different features than those on the actual device. Given how long the lead time got pushed due to supply chain issues, I’d have thought the Mosaic team would have had the time to work out the bugs and have all promised features available prior to delivery.
I would very much like to know this! I plan to use runout detection and multi spool mode extensively once they are available, and some of the materials I use will definitely need this functionality!
