We've seen a handful of these issues, and believe that it has something to do with the newest version of OctoPrint. I just wanted to confirm which version of OctoPrint that you're using, and if you've noticed if any other plugins were affected.

Also, could you please search for new software updates and also check the Canvas plugin disable status as those could be potential blockers:

Thanks for checking. We’re working on a fix to this issue, but for now, please revert back to V2.3.3 of the Canvas plugin as users have had success with this version: https://gitlab.com/mosaic-mfg/canvas-plu...

To fix this issue uninstall the plugins for both canvas and palette and then update python to version 3 using putty, then install canvas first and then palette. This worked spot on for me. Can't see why mosaic haven't found this out yet when other people have.

James, the uninstalling and installing of the plugins seems pretty straightforward, but could you recommend a resource or elaborate on the steps required to install Python 3 on the Canvas Hub S? I have been looking for what is involved, and I'm not finding much information.

I am also having this issue. The only way I can see to install Phyton 3 is to SSH in, but the default password for a raspberry Pi doesnt work.

I have also tried a factory reset and a reboot with the abcd-ch install.

Hi Nathan, please follow these steps:

1) Uninstall Canvas and Palette plugins from Octoprint.

2) SSH into the RPi, if you are using Windows you can use PuTTY. You can also use an IP scanner to get the IP address from the RPi, using the IP address as the hostname to connect to. Once you have the IP address, copy and paste it into PuTTY as the host to connect to.

3) Unless you have already configured your RPi login, the default id and password to access the Raspberry Pi is:

pi

raspberry

If the Pi has not been reset, the password is your serial number in the format xxxx-ch in lowercase

4) Once the connection is established, please enter the following three commands separately.

a. sudo apt-get update

b. curl -L https://get.octoprint.org/py3/upgrade.py --output upgrade.py

c. python3 upgrade.py

5) Once the Python update is complete, please reboot the RPi.

Afterwards, reconnect to Octoprint and re-install both the Palette and Canvas plugins.

I downgraded to 1.6.1 and it just showed up, then did a restart and upgrade to 1.8.7 and it's still there!!!

These are the downgrade code

  1. ~/oprint/bin/pip install https://github.com/OctoPrint/OctoPrint/a...

# sudo service octoprint restart
