Print Speed Control During Splices in mm/s

Dear Palette Team,

is there any chance to limit the print speed control in Canvas Hub also by mm/s rather than a percentage of the current feedrate?

I know that with my splice seetings around 35mm/s are fine during a splice, so there is no need to go below this value, e.g. if i print the shell with 25mm/s it’s not required to further slow down the print (which usually result in some issues).

Hey Oliver, thanks for the feedback. We can certainly request that the “normal feed rate” and the “splice feed rate” on the Hub page be changed by mm/s, as well as by a percentage. To clarify, are you wanting to lower the “splice feed rate,” but keep the “normal feed rate” the same?

thank you for your reply.

I believe the “normal feed rate” in percentage is fine, because the impacted speeds are defined by the style settings in Canvas and could be different speed settings which would be lowered or increased, e.g. shell speed, support speed, …

For the “splice feed rate” it would be got to have a setting which defines the highest speed during a splice, for example 35mm/s:


- Any higher speeds will be reduced to 35mm/s in my example, to avoid that the buffer is potentially running out in worst case

- Any lower speeds won’t be impacted, e.g. if the top layer is printed with 25mm/s , so that the print quality is as expected.
